The first time you set up Apple TV, you choose which display language and region format to use. You can change this later in Settings.

Add a language

You can add multiple languages so that you can change the primary language or switch between different languages when the keyboard appears onscreen.

  1. Open Settings Change the language or region format on Apple TV (1) on Apple TV.

  3. Select a language from the list, then confirm whether it will be the primary or an additional language.

Languages you add appear in preferred language order in the list. This means apps will use the first language listed, and keyboards will appear in your preferred language order.

Note: Siri and dictation may or may not be available, depending on the language you select. For more information, see the Apple Support article Use Siri on your Apple TV.

When you use the onscreen keyboard, select the Language button Change the language or region format on Apple TV (2) to switch to the next language in your list of languages.

    • Remove a language: Select the Trash button Change the language or region format on Apple TV (5) next to the language you want to remove.
