The first time you set up Apple TV, you choose which display language and region format to use. You can change this later in Settings.
Add a language
You can add multiple languages so that you can change the primary language or switch between different languages when the keyboard appears onscreen.
Open Settings
on Apple TV.
Go to General > Apple TV Languages, then select Add Language.
Select a language from the list, then confirm whether it will be the primary or an additional language.
Languages you add appear in preferred language order in the list. This means apps will use the first language listed, and keyboards will appear in your preferred language order.
Note: Siri and dictation may or may not be available, depending on the language you select. For more information, see the Apple Support article Use Siri on your Apple TV.
When you use the onscreen keyboard, select the Language button to switch to the next language in your list of languages.
To change the order or delete a language, see the task below.
Edit keyboard languages
If you’ve added multiple languages to Apple TV, you can change their priority or delete them.
Open Settings
on Apple TV.
Go to General > Apple TV Languages, then select Edit and do either of the following:
Change the preferred language order: Select the Move button
next to a language in the list, swipe up or down on the Siri Remote to change the position, then press the clickpad center (Siri Remote 2nd generation or later) or touch surface (Siri Remote 1st generation) to confirm the new position.
Remove a language: Select the Trash button
next to the language you want to remove.
Select Done to apply your changes.
Change the keyboard layout
You can change the layout of the keyboard that appears onscreen.
Open Settings
on Apple TV.
Go to General > Keyboard Layout and select one of the following:
Auto: Displays the Linear keyboard for touch-enabled remotes and displays the Grid keyboard for other remotes.
Linear: Displays keys in a line.
Grid: Displays keys in a grid.
Change the region format
Open Settings
on Apple TV.
Go to General > Region and select a region.
Thanks for your feedback.
