Join the Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT) in celebrating the magic of car-free streets during the 2024 Portland Sunday Parkways season (https://www.portland.gov/sunday-parkways...), Presented by Kaiser Permanente! The Portland Sunday Parkways program returns this year to East Portland on May 19, Northeast Cully on June 16, and Southwest Portland on September 22. Immerse yourself in the beauty of open streets and community as you explore interconnected neighborhood greenways and parks using climate-friendly transportation options like walking, rolling, scooting and biking.

Portland Sunday Parkways features community-focused events that transform neighborhoods into vibrant car-free zones, promoting active lifestyles, community engagement, and sustainable transportation. This beloved city event, established by PBOT in 2008, has become a celebrated tradition, bringing together residents, local businesses, and visitors for a unique and inclusive outdoor experience.

What to expect
Whether you're new to biking or just love soaking up the sun outdoors, there's something special for everyone at Sunday Parkways! The event routes showcase low-traffic streets called neighborhood greenways where PBOT has prioritized safe, comfortable access for people riding, walking, or rolling. Along the way, you’ll discover parks and neighborhoods, as well as delicious food and free entertainment!

We are thrilled to welcome back Kaiser Permanente Northwest as our Founding and Presenting Sponsor for the 17th year. As a healthcare organization that believes in the power of creating health where people live and play, Kaiser Permanente will join the festivities by providing fun and healthy activities in our PLAY, CONNECT, MOVE and NOURISH booths.

The ever-popular Kaiser Permanente Sticker Hunt is also back, inspiring us to get our bodies moving while also having fun by exploring the city neighborhoods. To play, you pick up a map at any Kaiser Permanente Sticker Hunt stop at each event. Visit all the locations on the map, do the activity at each of the Kaiser Permanente Sticker Hunt stops to receive a sticker for your map. Bring your completed map to any Kaiser Permanente sticker hunt booth to receive a prize!

Get ready to groove and celebrate as two beloved organizations, SoundsTruck NW (https://www.soundstrucknw.org) and Make Music Day PDX (https://www.makemusicdaypdx.org/), are joining forces for the first time to bring live local performances to each of the 2024 Portland Sunday Parkways events!

The Sunday Parkways atmosphere is guaranteed to be electric; from buzzing vendor marketplaces along the tree-lined open streets to pop-up DJ performances that'll make you want to dance. Bring your friends, family, and furry companions to enjoy the free festivities!

As the Portland Sunday Parkways program prepares to kick off its 2024 season, the community is invited to be part of the excitement. There are a number of ways to get involved:
• Volunteer: Volunteers are the heart and soul of Portland Sunday Parkways! Whether it's helping at an information booth, providing route guidance to participants, or assisting with other activities along the route, there are plenty of opportunities to lend a hand.
