First Sergeant Edenfield, a native of Kite, GA, was the son of the late Oscar and Neta Kersey Edenfield. He was a member and Deacon of the First Freewill Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and upon retiring from the Army was the Code Enforcement Officer for the City of Warner Robins. He was the catalyst for founding the New Hope Center and was a member of the Tyrian Lodge and the VFW. Survivors include his beloved wife of fifty-six years E.

Ellerbee, Sr. and Bertha Shivers Ellerbee. He had lived in Macon most of his life, was a graduate of Lanier High School and was a retired truck driver. Mr. Ellerbee was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and was a thirty-second degree Mason and Shriner, Lodge 663.
He was the father of the late Regina E. Young, Ronald E. Ellerbee and Rhonda E. Ellerbee and was the brother of the late Carolyn E. Bailey.
Survivors include his sister, Earnestine E. Adams of Thomaston; his brothers, Mark M. Ellerbee Jr. and Ray S. Ellerbee, both of Macon; four grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

SMC Alfred Grayson English CLERMONT, FL- Alfred Grayson English, 91, Clermont, passed away February 27, 2006 at South Lake Hospital. He was born April 5, 1914 in Powersville, Georgia, son of Early Monroe English and Nellie Mae Newell English, served in the US Marines and US Navy and moved to central Florida in 1938. He was a wholesale representative for Western Auto and a member of VFW and First United Methodist Church where he was a former lay minister.
Surviving is his wife of 66 years Edith (nee Merritt) English; and many nieces and nephews. His siblings Sarah Daniel, Bernice Stevens, Neta Hays and Early Vern English preceded him in death. The funeral service will be held at on Thursday, March 2, 2006 in the Becker Chapel with Rev. Doug Kokx officiating. Col. James Buford Ennis (Ret.) MACON Lt. Col. James Buford Ennis (Ret.) born June 3, 1918 to Julian Horne and Mattie Giles Ennis in Milledgeville, Baldwin County, Ga. went to be with his Lord Jesus Christ February 26, 2006.
He graduated from Georgia Military College in Milledgeville in June of 1940 and began a military career that would continue until his retireJames Ennis ment after 30 years of loyal service to his country. He was called into Federal Service November 25, 1940 by virtue of being a member of battery 214th Coast Artillery (AA), Georgia National Guard in Milledgeville. His initial assignment during WWII was guarding the North American Coast at Newfoundland and from there to the European Theatre of Operations in France and Germany where he advanced from Platoon Leader to Executive Officer to Company Commander in less than three weeks and retained that position throughout the remainder of the war for which he was awarded the Bronze Star for meritorious service. After the war he returned to Macon, Ga. where he continued to serve with the National Guard and the Army Reserve until his retirement.
The apex of his military career was when he graduated from the Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas in June of 1964. He retired in 1969 as a Lieutenant Colonel. At his retirement LTC Ennis was on the faculty of the Macon USAR School on Riverside Dr. He was employed for 33 years by the Atlanta Gas Light Company in Macon, Ga. and retired in 1981.
Jim and his wife Ruth have retained their membership at Centenary UMC for over 50 years. He is survived by his wife of 62 years Ruth Virginia Garrett Ennis; two brothers, Edgar W. (Nelle) Ennis of Albany, Ga. and Emory C. (Gayle) Ennis of Jacksonville, FL; two sisters, Frances (William Pinner of Lakeland, FL and Katherine Roberts of Belleview, FL; four children, Jennie (Sidney) Smith of Roanoke, VA, David (Edna) Ennis of Bradenton, FL, Susan (Frank) Di Fiore of Macon and Mike Ennis of Macon; four granddaughters, three grandsons, and seven great grandsons.
